If you’re as much of a fan of space images as I am, this is one you won’t want to miss.
Here’s the most beautiful space image I’ve ever seen…and finally, it’s available in a higher-res format which can be used on your computer desktop without having to stretch it or lower the quality of the image.
Because it’s big, you’ll probably have to crop it. And I suppose that, for some, it may be too “busy” to work as a desktop. I compensated for that by darkening it down a bit. But, this is way too good not to share.

One of the more creative blog posts I’ve seen in awhile.
Some words mean so much more when accompanied when illustrated by real-life examples.
Such is the case with signs, doorbells, makeup, Christmas decorations and so much more here:

This is quite the remarkable photograph, taken in Oman by George Steinmetz…and published in National Geographic.
Those camels appear to be extremely black, but a closer look reveals a different story.
The black images are actually just the shadows of the camels. Beneath each black camel, you’ll notice small, thin, bright shapes…which are, in fact, the camels walking through the desert.

18,000 men. In fact, 18,000 soliders.
There’s no date on this, but it seems likely from the uniforms that it’s from sometime before WWII. Possibly WWI. I’m sure others can get a better fix on this than I. It took place at Camp Dodge in Iowa.
However, it’s just amazing to see 18,000 people doing any one thing at the same time. And, the patriotic spirit of the image is undeniable.
