Like hundreds of other Chinese, this man was caught napping by a German photographer named Bernd Hagemann who delights in the apparently common Chinese practice of dropping whereever you stand for a quick 40 winks.
Hagemann’s site features over 600 such pictures, broken into categories such as Softsleepers, Hardsleepers and Groupsleepers.

“A newfangled extravagance is spreading amongst the music-lover youngsters of New York, which, after invading America, is sure to conquer the whole world. Ears becoming pointed as a result of plastic surgery not only enhance the attractiveness of the face, but also improve the experience of listening to music. A sign of the popularity of this operation is that in big cities so-called Faun-Clubs are founded one after another, where entrance is only allowed with pointed ears. The reverberating success of this new look is supported by more and more celebrities with pointed ears, amongst whom we can find not only musicians, but, for example, models, as well. The creator of this operation is a Hungarian plastic surgeon, Dr. Lajos Nagy, who is currently practicing in New York, and who is soon going to introduce his new method the first time in Europe, in Hungary.”

For those of use shoehorned into crowded housing communities, here’s a change of pace:
Houses with a view…out in the middle of nature…in the middle of “nowhere”.
And I swear I keep expecting Julie Andrews to come spinning over the hill singing in that 7th one…

Photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten has created some very interesting images.
Included in these are some giant-sized teenage girls living in a normal-sized world. Or some normal-sized teenage girls living in a miniature-sized world. Or something.
Anyway, they’re worth a look. Filed under: Projects >> Teenage Stories

28-year-old Karyn Steinert of Littleton, CO, had the flu…and was operating (so to speak) on about 2 hours of sleep when she hopped in her vehicle and headed to the doctor. One might guess that she had taken some “do not operate a motor vehicle while”-type medication…as she drove around 30 miles with her head back against the headrest and her eyes basically closed. After calling 911 and doing their best to wake her (no response), a couple in a nearby car grabbed their video cam and taped her for a bit…being careful not to get to close, as she was all over the road. Newscast video included.

A very funny Candid Camera-style trick with mirrors…so to speak.
See how long it takes you to figure out what’s going on.

(clears his throat) “Errr…lake? Why would I go into the lake?
No, I’ve been at home all day. I even know who won the soccer game!
Why do you ask? Did something happen down at the lake today?”
